Acrylic Paint Lesson

Welcome to the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre, the home of the Arts Society of Kingsville (A.S.K.). Kings Bake Shop will be on-site with a pop-up shop. Pick a gorgeous beverage and a baked good of your choice then grab a spot in the art gallery. Andrea Kubis, Art Education Director, cannot wait to help you create an acrylic painting following step-by-step instructions. Get ready to recreate a gorgeous and decadent cupcake painting inspired by the boutique bakery, Kings Bake Shop. Andrea will demonstrate how to complete the painting.

You will learn:

• How to identify your materials, including brushes, prepared board, and type of paint
• How to paint in the background using blending
• How to paint in the main shapes of the foreground
• How to paint in the details

Take a break from the lesson to browse the gallery and vote for your “People’s Choice.” The Carnegie is a unique and beautiful art space and cultural hub for the community. It’s home to a contemporary group of traditional and modernistic fine artists, along with creative writers, woodworkers, jewelers, clothiers and many other creatives. Take a look at your classmates work as the paint dries. Lastly, sign your piece and get together for a group photo.
